It's soft it's big it's cheap. My only beef is that it's not wool but that's the only reason why it costs what it does.
If they offered a wider pattern selection to my taste I'd have one in every room they are that soft. The backing also has a bit of no-slip to it so a pad is nice for padding but not needed to keep the rug from sliding on a wooden floor.
